I can’t think of anything to write so I’ll leave you with this.
Farewell. God knows when we shall meet again. ~ William Shakespeare
I can’t believe these past 7 months have flown by so fast! Now I have exactly 7 days Till I leave for my mission. It’s totally surreal and hasn’t really sunk in yet. But I’m super excited and anxious to start this journey. I’m gonna experience a whole new way of life and culture and that excites me. To tell you the truth the thing I’m looking forward to the most (and it probably sounds stupid and lame) is to wash my clothes by hand. I’ve been so used to living a certain way and I’ve been comfortable my whole life. I want to have the full experience and live the way some of the people live. I know that it’s gonna be difficult and that I’ll have doubts at times but I know for a surety that this is what I’m supposed to do. There is no doubt in my heart. I’m going to grow to love these people that I’m going to serve. I can’t wait to start!
Talking is something that we, myself included, take for granted sometimes. It’s something we do on a daily basis to communicate thoughts and feelings. It is the way we are able to release emotions. You can even say that it’s a sort of natural healing. And with talking you are able to have something really special and unique… a conversation. I was able to have an amazing conversation today with two close friends about, well, pretty much any and everything. We hit such topics as Art, Music, Politics, Religion, and everything else under the sun! And I got to see different perspectives on things that I never thought about. I felt so glad to be able to talk about things that I’ve always wanted to talk about with people who were just as eager to talk about it. I was very happy and honored to be able to open myself up like that. I feel like deep meaningful conversation is quickly becoming extinct and It’s really rather sad. With most Teenagers talking about the latest styles and trends and the latest episode of ‘Jersey Shore’ it leaves the art of real conversation. It’s like they think that those kind of things are gonna matter when they graduate high school and find careers and get married. Look past those juvenile and mundane things and see whats going on all around you. see Whats happening in the world you live in. Get informed. Be aware. Be open minded. and have meaningful conversation. It makes this little thing we call life that much more sweeter.
